What Can I say? It’s Butch Walker!
I know I frequently claim concerts were the best ever or whatevs but honestly Butch Walker’s performance last night topped every other concert I’ve seen this year and that includes the Fueled By Ramen 15th Anniversary show and the Arctic Monkey’s American Tour (which both were freakin’ awesome). Of course every musician who performed during this show had talent beyond the average-Joe’s imagination and even beyond the more imaginative of us’ imagination. No one he works with plays just one instrument and every instrument they play they’ve seemed to master. Starting with a perfect acapella and ending with a guitar battle there wasn’t a dull moment the entire show. I definitely feel I start to become the person I hate at his shows: waiting impatiently for the opening acts to finish it up with eyes for no one but the headliner (any other time I love opening acts especially if I’ve never heard of them before, and don’t get me wrong I love his openers all the same, but my enjoyment of their acts is always competing with the want for him to start). There’s something about the amount of talent bundled up and shoved inside that man that makes his performances incomparable. I loved the way he set up the acts this tour with his Black Widows’ other bands as the openers, showing off the also extremely talented musicians he had collected up to display in his band. The amount he cares about his band/friends and his fans is nearly incomparable. If you ever get the chance, definitely go and see a Butch Walker concert!
P.S. NEW MUFFIN!!!
P.S.S. …no, it’s not Butch :-(
